Wind Measuring Systems

The wind potential of a site could be measured by using a complete wind measuring system, that consists of a data logger, a wind vane and one to three anemometers for different heights wind speed recording (see photos). The data logger records the actual wind speed and calculates statistical values such as maximum, minimum and average wind speed, standard deviation, etc. The recording data are saved in the internal memory of the data logger and their acquisition could be done :

  • through a Data Transport Device (DTG): this way requires the visit of the site
  • through GPRS modem: the recorded data are sent in a protected server in internet
  • through GPS modem: the recorded data are saved in your computer
  • Our Experience on the wind potential measuring In the frame of wind park development, we have installed may meteo masts in the range of 10 – 40 m height in various regions in Greece. Go to Meteo Mast Installation to see the various phases of a mast erection.

    Meteo – Mast®

    THE PROFESSIONALS

The Meteo-Mast designed by the Windsol engineers fulfils the modern requirements combining its high technical integrity with minimum shipping, assembly and installation cost. The complete kit of the meteorological mast has a maximum transport length of only 3,2 m and requires less than one working day of one person for installation. For the future maintenance of the sensors, the required time to lower and erect the mast is approximately 5 to 10 minutes.

    Main Features:

  • All the corrosion sensitive materials are made of hot dip galvanized metals and guy wires
  • Complete mast is guyed in 4 directions (every 90° around) by 4 groups of guywires, depending on mast height
  • Erection of the mast is performed easily with a manual or electric winch
  • Other tan standard heights, multiple of 3m and additional steel arms for sensor mounting are available on special order

An optional lightning protection is also provided, with a compatible to the mast lightning kit
